Remote Learning Updates

 All students will be expected to log on and engage with their work from home as they do on other days when they learn remotely.

PS 185 Updates

We are excited to announce we have a school Instagram page; Instagram is an excellent and free resource to share photos. We would love to share updates of our school and to celebrate our successes throughout the school year on Instagram. This private Instagram page will give you the opportunity to see what we are doing in PS 185. If you would like to participate and follow, our schools’ exciting learning adventures simply follow @ps185events. If you would like to give permission for us to post photos that might include your child or if you don't give permission please fill out form

School spirit days

We have set up School Spirit Days and Weeks for the rest of the School Year, we hope everyone joins us in celebrating our Spirit Days:

April 16th: Wear pajamas to work/school day

April 22nd: Earth Day (wear blue, green or flowers to celebrate Earth Day)

April 28th: National Superhero Day (wear a superhero shirt)

May 4th: Star Wars Day (wear something Star Wars)

May 10th: Armed Forces Day (wear camoflague)

May 21st: Endangered Species Day (wear animal print)

May 24th: Memorial Weekend (wear red, white and blue)

 June 2nd: Disney Day (wear anything Disney)

June 8th: Best Friends Day (dress like one of your friends or role model)

June 17th: Throwback Thursday (dress like any decade)

ipad loan updates

By August 14, families who borrowed iPads from the DOE will receive an email or text about preparing DOE-loaned devices for the first day of school. Families will be asked to take action to ensure that their child’s iPad is updated and ready to be used for remote learning, including:

  • Turning on the iPad;

  • Reconnecting to internet;

  • Making sure content-filtering in enabled (Zscaler);

  • Signing in to the Learn at Home app; and

  • Using the iPad as a Wi-Fi-enabled, personal hotspot.
